> Yes it is legal because it worked That's nonsense. Even in the C-language certain things have worked in the past because of compiler bugs. Newer GCC versions have fixed it and broken C-code. Too bad for the users, but it improved the compiler's C-compliance. Something might work, but that doesn't make it "legal" by definition.

From the sound of it, you haven't contributed in any way to the project, so who are you to judge if there was a better solution to fix it? I do agree with you that some people have attitude problems here and that it hurts the community as a whole. I'm not in the position to talk to the few people in question about their certain behavior when I notice it, because I'm just a user like you are. I can only hope the big kahuna's here will point this out to eachother. I don't consider PHP to be a joke, nor the community. This community has given us very much, and we never had to pay a dime for the amazing work they do. We can only be very greatful, but of course it sure helps when we (developers and users) are all treated with the proper respect (which in my case, is 99+% of the time).
