Well is it approved for use with Apache2?
Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that the PHP core is approved with Apache2 in threaded mode.
If you use non-threadsafe modules you have to use Apache 2 in --mpm=prefork mode and then it's approved too.
We've been using Apache 2 prefork / PHP 4 in production for quite a while now without any problems.
