IP Parcels and Advanced Jumbos (AJs) are discussed here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-templin-6man-parcels2/ https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-templin-intarea-parcels2/
There is very old code relative to a long-ago draft version that should not be used for any purposes other than as a preliminary sketch of what is possible. If you want to see that, it is here: https://github.com/fltemplin/ip-parcels Thank you - Fred From: Matt Mathis <mattmat...@measurementlab.net> Sent: Thursday, July 25, 2024 7:56 AM To: Templin (US), Fred L <fred.l.temp...@boeing.com> Cc: Robinson, Herbie <herbie.robin...@stratus.com>; Paul Vixie <p...@redbarn.org>; Tom Herbert <t...@herbertland.com>; Christian Huitema <huit...@huitema.net>; Gorry (erg) <go...@erg.abdn.ac.uk>; int-area <int-area@ietf.org> Subject: Re: [Int-area] Jumbo frame side meeting at IETF118 - notes Is there an architectural document and/or problem statement for Parcels? That way, there is still good integrity coverage even if all links in the path are still only using CRC32. If the hardware has to change, we can push MTU negotiation into the hardware. And completely bypass the momentum involved with getting every existing implementation on the planet to actually implement PTB. _______________________________________________ Int-area mailing list Int-area@ietf.org<mailto:Int-area@ietf.org> https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/int-area -- Thanks, --MM-- Evil is defined by mortals who think they know "The Truth" and use force to apply it to others.
