Species of *Symplocos* found in the Ooty - Coonoor (*high altitude*) region:
1. *Symplocos obtusa* Wall. ex G.Don 2. *Symplocos foliosa* Wight 3. *Symplocos cochinchinensis* subsp. *laurina *(Retz.) Noot. (*Symplocos acuminata* (Blume) Miq.) The posted plant was found at approx 1900 m asl *Symplocos racemosa* Roxb. rarely occurs at high altitude. I am not sure. I have not checked *S. lucida* / *S. macrophylla*. Regards.
