You definitely shouldn't use RAID if you're going to use ZFS. Solaris supports AHCI very well, and AHCI lets you use NCQ and hot-plugging. What I'm less clear about is what version of AHCI to use. This board lets you choose whether you'd like to use AHCI 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0.
