Note that Firefox uses proportional fonts while gnome-terminal uses monospace fonts. Proportional and monospace fonts *should* look different.
A better test would be to compare how firefox looks compared with other GNOME programs which use proportional fonts, such as gedit. Brian
OK, I made the symlinks (because it was easier than figuring out how to build a .fonts.conf file!) and it improved Firefox a little, and messed up everything else :-( Firefox still wasn't "right" using the links.
