Because the text mode installer isn't done yet, and most SPARC
systems supported by opensolaris wouldn't be able to use the
graphical installer.

i thought osol is going to be its replacement...
i feel an unstable/unfinished osol-1002-XXX-sparc.iso would be better then just
no bootable media for sparc.
Text mode installer is a priority. There are a number of engineers
actively working on it, we can only get there so fast. This is an open
project and you are welcome to contribute in anyway you can. The
