There are three issues:
1)update manager
cannot update individual packages. It have to update all.
2) delete BE
Using "Package Manager"->file->Manage Boot Environment to delete one
BE. It cannot update menu.list by itself. Even if I delete BE through
package manager, It still can see this BE opensolaris in grub.
I have to modify menu.list manually.
3)packager manager
packager can install ndividual packages, but after you install this
package and there is a new version for this package, you cannot update
it individually. you have to update all.
Thanks

Shasha su :
I mean use Update manager to update parts of applications, not
packager manager. It seems that there is issue with update manager
when updateing individual packages.
Yes, using packager manager, we can update individual packages.
If I choose parts of applications to upgrade, most of them appears
error then during update.
Error: The choosed applications cannot update by itself, please choose
'update all' to update all applications.
If only choose one application to update(For
example,SUNWgnome-pdf-viewer) It can download successfully, but it
appeared Traceback Error when installing.
So we have to update all.
Do you see this issue?
Thanks

Hi experts
I have two questions about opensolaris 0906
1)"update manager" cannot upgrade according application sort.
For example, from “update manager”, we can see many applications, but
there is only one buttion "update all". Even if I choose one
application, not all, then click "update all", it still update all
applications, not only one application. The total data is about 651M. In
my VB on my laptop, it takes 24mins to finish this update processing.
However, SUSE can only update the application which end-user choose, not
upgrade all application.
If you want to update individual packages, use
System->Administration->Package Manager (or the "Add More Software"
icon on the desktop). This opens the full package manager
application, where you can add or remove whatever packages you choose.
2)about "Boot Environment"
After I finished step 1), It generate one new BE opensolaris-1. I can
see this new BE opensolaris-1 using GUI and "beadm list". It don't
overrite orginal BE opensolaris.
Then I reboot OS to make it use opensolaris-1 and try to delete orginal
BE opensolaris in GUI, through it appears error "cannot delete
opensolaris", but i can see opensolaris is deleted in BUI and "beadm
list". At this time, I don't change menu.list.
If you try to delete the original beadm from the command line (using
'pfexec beadm destroy opensolaris'), it may give you a more useful
error message.

Calum.
