Well... Netbooks have strange graphics cards. Maybe your Linux version didn't have proper 3D acceleration for your netbook.
I am on a Toshiba Tecra M2... Uses NVIDIA. So fancy Linux drivers available... and... WoW isn't too much graphics intensive. What really helps is that WoW loads huge amounts of textures... and Linux file system is much more efficient than Windows... which is what gave me the big performance increase. It was at least a year or so back (when I was playing WoW - I stopped since)... so probably Crossover 7.x on Linux Ubuntu 8.04. Gilles. Fajar A.
