The weird thing is that the
queue exists in the $HOME/.printers file as you can see from the
attached files in my previous emails.
Maybe it is there from previous queue creations through presto.
Note that the lpr queue has not caused a crash ever since I set it up
with the solaris lp manager.

Hi George,
I think if you print by lpr, youmay be hitting this bug,
JDS-Nevada]Firefox3.x crashes when useing "Print to LPR"
http://monaco.sfbay.sun.com/detail.jsf?cr=6747225
Also noted if you create a print queue using
Remote LPD with the new print manger (which is functionality the same
as
Add Access to printer.. on Solaris LP Print Manager), but with a
different.
Soloris LP Print manger doesn't update your $HOME/.printers, but Print
Manager does. Since your printers entry in /etc/nssswitch.conf says
user,files,
Phaser2 will not appear in the Firefox print dialog because the queue
added
is not in $HOME/.printers.
I think having 2 Print mangers on the menu is confusing especially they
have
different behaviors. anyway, that is another day of work.
So I look forwards to the information from you with the new Print
manager :)
Thanks,

Hi Ghee,
I send you the setup as it is atm using the "Solaris lp printer
manager".
The steps to setup this:
1. Launch Solaris Lp Manager
2. Naming service: files
3. Printer>Add access to printer
4. Printer name: phaser2
5. Printer server: 129.159.171.58
6.Description: phaser
7. Option: default printer
Note that with this setup the printer that I use in firefox is lpr.
There is no entry for the phaser2 printer.
I will reproduce the issue with presto and send the files in another
email.
Regards,
George

Hi George,
It will help me tremendously if you can provide more information that
snv98 :)
If you have forgotten what option you used to set your printer. May be
you can send you on
a individually a tarball of /etc/lp and /etc/printers.conf
/etc/nssswitch.conf and $HOME/.printers
Thanks,
