Do what the rest of informed consumers do and make wise decisions. check 
the hcl before buying.

Alternatively, you can try genunix.org for the lastest ISO as the 
respins may have the drivers you're needing.  Of course I'm not sure 
specifically which drivers you're missing, but if it's just a nic then 
I'd say buy an adapter and be happy for the contributions of others.  
Also.. feel free to support the efforts on your own hardware by 
contributing.  The O/N sources are available, the tools are given to you 
and documentation while sometimes lacking can eventually be shifted 
through to give you what you're looking for.  One step at a time and try 
to stay positive.  It's open source and even with Sun backing things the 
community has to step up sometimes too.
