Could someone point me to some (fairly basic) documentation on
how to start the boot-CD kernel manually, i.e., BEFORE Solaris
is installed?

The hard drive has been zeroed.  Do I need to start fdisk (how?),
or does the install CD get the hdd ready automagically?
