Did you follow the "image-update" instructions detailed here http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/opensolaris-announce/2008-July/001860.html Unfortunately there was a flag day which at the moment requies some manual steps in order to image-update from build 86 to build 89 or beyond.
