That's incorrect. signature_show_compose is global in scope only. It
makes zero logical sense to enable it per identity, since how would
you switch between identities if some are disabled? (Rhetorical
question).

For posterity sake, these two settings have to be checked in
order for the collapsible signature box to appear attached to the
composition window:
Settings (the cog) > Preferences > Mail > Personal Information
and make sure the "Show the signature on the compose screen?"
box at the bottom is checked AND
Settings (the cog) > Preferences > Mail > Composition
and make sure the "Show the signature on the compose screen?"
box is checked also
There's no reason to display the show signature pref on the identity
screen. It's not associated with the *content* of the signature
(Identity prefs) but rather with the UI of the compose page (Compose
prefs).
