Zitat von azurIt <azu...@pobox.sk>:
Hi,
ia have two questions:
1.) Is it possible to add signature right after the _my_ text in
IMP6 when replying to message? Standard behavior is to add it to the
end of message (so after the quoted text).
2.) Is it possible to display signature in compose screen? Like in IMP5.
thnx.

This has been discussed and asked a dozen times already. Please use
search engines and mailing list archives.
What about to make a special mark like <%
your_signature_will_be_placed_here %> which will appear in
composition window and will be replaced by signature after sending
an e-mail?
Absolutely not.
As Jan says, this has been discussed multiple times before. *Very*
briefly: putting the signature ANYWHERE other than as the last data in
the message makes absolutely no sense and leads to producing
completely unreadable message text. Which is one of MULTIPLE reasons
Well, this is your opinion and other people (including me) may not agree with
it. I'm not going to argue with you and Jan but current signature behavior is
extremely non-standard (have you ever seen any other e-mail client which was
acting like this?) and lot's of our customers are very confused.

Hello, Azur:
Yes, a lot of people were unhappy about this (check imp mail list
archives). As an alternative, I have proposed at least just the
*displaying* of the signature (i. e., in another frame or something like
that), which does not seem a hard task to accomplish (I mean, pull the
signature text from db backend when selecting the identity in the
compose window), specially because imp, like horde in general, is
*extremely* well designed. But since even that idea was rejected, if you
want this behavior, you will have to do it your self (and this
contribuition would be appreciated) or sponsor it (i don´t know how
sponsoring would work or cost).
I also think wrinting a msg and not seeing what will be the final text
is really confusing and nonintuitive, mainly for real life/regular
users, but since this is open source software, at least you can alter
the code. Imagine if it were proprietary/closed software.
