This looks like TCP/IP problem and there is nothing Horde/IMP can do about it. The latest Microsoft OS are now using "modern" TCP/IP features like window-scaling,SACK and MTU-discover by default and there are still broken routers/firewalls around which choke on this. This is the most supektable reason because as you said all browsers fail on Vista/7 and work and XP/2003.
You have to use some TCP-dumper to see what is going on. Regards Andreas
