Dear friends,
             This is the last resort that i have come
to. 
I am trying to install Red Hat Linux 7.3 on my
machine. The installation
goes fine but the system is unable to boot. the
following
message arrives on the screen

root(hd0,1)
File system type is ext2fs,partition type 0x83
kernel/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-3 roroot =/dev/hda2
[linux.bz.Image,setup=0x1400, size 0xff8b0]

Error 28 : Selected item cannot fit in memory

i am having an amd 1700 xp+  processor,asus a7n266-vm
motherboard with inbuilt nVidia GeForce 2 Integrated
GPU and 256 MB
shared DDR RAM,40GB barracuda drive.
 I have win-98SE installed on my hdd on 1st partition.

Beleieve me friends I am trying this for the last 10
days.
But still nothing works out. I have upgraded my
machine specially to swithover to linux.

I will be thankful if somebody helps me out of this
mess.
