Hi Raj / Friends,
I work as an administrator(NT) and SQL DBA for big MNCand I have development background(Java,VB, VC, J Scripts and bit c++ etc)......I want to change my line to Unix or linux platform and network programming thru c/c++. I find Linux\Open Bsd very exiting as there are stable reliable and with source code you feel like GOD ...ability to change/tweak OS and lots of creativity that is missing with microsoft
Since I dont get time to study or practice and everything in company runs on MS (besides two Sun Servers...).I planning to leave my job...and some some money to sustain my self for next few months.
What should I focus upon in Open source and how should i go abt it...so that I get job (in Unix/linux platform )after few months of rigrous study ? Is there any free projects I can help with you guys so that I also gain some experience?
Though I do some kernel programming and shell/ scripting ..php/mysql programing but I am no expert ....I would love to move into hihg performance coorprate computing like Beowulf pirana..but can I do so in few months and is there any market for this
Pl advice for guys like me who take open seriously as carrer option how should i switch...and bet thier carrer on it
I am willing to work hard and ready follow advice of linux guru like you
Thanx in advance
love
linux romeo
