this question keeps popping up, and will do so more frequently. reason:

AutoCad formally announced zero tolerance to piracy beginning january and
claimed in a news release they've already sent notices to about 500
establishments using their software.

QCAD is a basic-level alternative to autocad. Q-CAD II is also under
development. apparantly QCAD can handle a major chunk of CAD stuff, but not
all. thus you may be able to reduce some headcount in the number of
installations of autocad at a site, and leave a few copies for 'critical'
work. but then this depends on the nature of work.

sourceforge, freshmeat, also mention a few other projects.

is there anyone out there who would like to start working/developoing QCAD
further? this could be another project we could initiate at linux-delhi under
the gpl.

any takers?
