Hi,
If my earlier suggestions did not work, do the
follwing.
After starting your computer and before linux
starts loading, press ctrl+x to get into the text mode, you will see the boot:
prompt, enter "linux 1" here, obvoiusly wothout the quotes.
This will log you in to single user mode and you
will reach the # prompt directly.
Now change your root password by using the passwd
command, remember the password and just reboot. You should now be able to work
and login properly using the new password.
