Hi,

If my earlier suggestions did not work, do the follwing.

After starting your computer and before linux starts loading, press ctrl+x to get into the text mode, you will see the boot: prompt, enter "linux 1" here, obvoiusly wothout the quotes.

This will log you in to single user mode and you will reach the #  prompt directly.

Now change your root password by using the passwd command, remember the password and just reboot. You should now be able to work and login properly using the new password.

Subject: [ilugd]: Help!!! Linux Crushed me

Hi,
I have used all versions of Windows os but also a fan of Linux os and i want to change my os to Linux. I live in Ghaziabad, U.P.. Although i had a 2 cd pack of Red Hat Linux 7.3. But after i installed it on my system for 3 times it is asking for a user login and password, though entering the given password it is not accepting it and I am unable to work on it. Please sent me the solution if u can moreover i had came to know about knoppix and it's hassle free installation through the net & visited site (knopper.net) but got disappointed as it is not offering single cd version for downloading but the 5 cd version.

Please help me in that.I wil be very thankful to u.

I m Deepanshu Goel
