well i don't think many ppl will login to IRC as the general populace is
afraid of doing "/join #linux-delhi" and downloading mIRC. in fact one of
my friends had mIRC and on phone i was not able to tell him how to connect
to irc.freenode.net (i've not seen mIRC since ages). IM client like
rhymbox on windows and gaim on linux are much much easier to use, and ppl
will be more comfortable in using them as it is just point and click, and
they've experience of it (yahoo/msn etc.)
