Dear all,

This month has been rather hectic and we have met more than once. The
developements of the LAP and the project being conducted in collaboration
with Linux lingam are taking shape and details about them can be found on the
respective lists.

Admist this hectic schedule and a lot of people involved in more than one
thing, I still take the liberty of proposing the following for the future
Linux Delhi meets and actions.

>>The Resource Base:

As promised, I am posting the field notes on the list. The lull at the moment
being due to the vacations in schools and colleges. i am going to begin
visiting schools and colleges from the next week.

it would be really nice if some more people contributed to the
resource/knowledge base. the research needn't be undertaken in the structured
form. for it is both a part of my passion and profession but most of you are
busy in other things.

What i mean is just putting in conversations had with friends over
tea/coffee/cig's regarding these issues and the sensibility it has, the
opposition felt and convincing you could do(!) or the interactions with local
hardware vendors/ cablewallahas/ cybercafe operators regarding these issues
or technology in general.

I am of these opinions that these casual conversations themselves will reflect
on the technological sensibility and the association sought with it.

>>Monthly Installation Fest:

I had mentioned it earlier as well and had got no response. As suggested, the
idea is to conduct a one hour installation every month, to begin with at the
Sarai space itself as it is most accessible and the networks around the area
being established. so it would be easier to make inroads. And from this
experience, once we have something tangible we can go to other places,
request space or sponsorships as well. But we need some starters.

It would be really nice if 6 members from the group can volunteer for the next
six months. the convenience will be taken care of.
and as mentioned earlier, if any one of you have any ideas about the kind of
audience one would want to reach out and talk about specific softwares
patricular to that group...it would be very nice.

like last time, i am not suggesting names but i am hoping people come forward.
anyways, this is going to be addressed in the next meet.

>>Talks

if a good database of people within Delhi or outside can be generated of
people who would be interested in coming and talking about the various facets
and features of Free software, then we could think of holding these talks
once in two mothns, at various different computer departments all over delhi.

Cutting my mails really short, hoping that i can response reaction and action
to my mail.

cheers and looking forward for conversations

tripta
