Thanks for your suggestion but since both side require a deep drive in
technology hence the concern. Software skills at advanced level is obviously
required cause writing / designing Linux Device drivers or MATLAB applications
requires it.
I do understand the point of personal's like / dislike but I have to make my
career out of it. Hence the concern - maybe I can put the question like this
way - which platform you can see has a brighter future - MATLAB / Linux Device
Drivers wrt opportunity, help & guidance, project scope , innovation, research
and ongoing development on same across world wide.

Adding to it is since I was just picking up on Linux Device driver development
(passionate about Linux). But MATLAB is a
good platform to work on also.

Prakash

IMHO your question looks like 'which one among kaju katli and gulab
jamoon I should like?'. The obvious answer will be "it depends on your
taste".

There are companies (automotive or aeuronautical systems) which need
people with Matlab / Octave expertise for
 prototyping / designing
systems and also require driver for embedded systems (may not be Linux
though). If you find such a start up you may get a chance to work on
both. Some bigger companies may not allow you to do both. You have
peep out and find. I guess ISRO and DRDO also have similar work.

I think both involves mathematics and logic. It is upto you to choose
which will be fit for you.

Hope this helps,
