Well LUG had both plenty of negatives like ego and plenty of positives like knowledge and techie stuff going on when I joined back in August 2006. I have always been critical of 4 talks in one LUG meet. That sort of thing never happens anywhere else. Now it has become quite its opposite I think. Anyway physical attendance and talks foster friendship and fun and also some nice learning. But I think LUG is largely about using e-mail to learn and share knowledge. These days very little of that happens here. Perhaps someone should start sending tech tips daily. I will see if I have time to do it. I used to send those and before me Bharathi did. And even the tips by some nice soul from Kanchi LUG(sorry dont recollect his name) even were quite brilliant. It was hardly any effort for me to send those tips but it was a good learning experience for me. I could perhaps try this again. We need more knowledge oriented tech discussions rather than discussions about jobs and talks and quality and so on. It is okay provided the tech topics dominate. -Girish -- G3 Tech Networking appliance company web: http://g3tech.in mail: [email protected] _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
