Hi, My apologies for not following the mailing list guidelines. I would like to answer the couple of questions that were raised in regards to my previous mail.
" I see a statement in the FAQ that reads: \"We use proprietary natural language processing algorithms to determine sentiment.\" So, I would like to know if this is an free open source venture or a proprietary one. Also, please let us know what has this got to do with GNU/Linux or Free software. " Thanks for trawling our website yesterday. We hope you enjoyed it. Yes, Its true that our NLP algorithms are proprietary, patent-pending, result of 'n' years of cutting edge research and development, etc, etc. and Yes, We expect people to pay in return for using our software. But, the reason of my mail to this group was not to advertise the technologies that we work on. Which words in my mail conveyed that information to the group? All we wanted was to reach out to students who have strong exposure to programming and are passionate about FOSS. These students will be contributing to one open source project that we are releasing this summer. The best part is that they can continue working on the project even when they go back to their colleges, highly rewarding jobs, etc, etc. You learn. We learn. Win-win. We use and contribute to few FOSS tools in our work, and hence we care about people contributing to open source. Being inquisitive is part of human nature, but it does become tiresome hearing/reading these same questions over and over again. If one is interested in what we do, just ask. I would be more than happy to walk you through. Thanks, Devjyoti _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
