I think virtio is a tunnel, not a hyperviser. We can't compare these
products because they use different techniques to achieve
virtualization. Contest should be like this,

Full-Virtualizers:

VMWare vs Hyper-V vs Virtualbox vs Qemu

Kernel-Assisted-Virtualizers (Para-Virtualizers):

VMWare(6.0) vs Xen

Hardware-Assisted-Virtualizers (Intel-VT or AMD-V):

kvm(qemu-kvm)

SandBoxers:

BSD-Jails vs Linux-VServer vs OpenVZ vs Virtuozzo vs Linux-Containers(lxc)

We can achieve nativity only in 'SandBoxers' but host and guest should
be same kernel. I don't know about 'qemu-kvm' in clouds, but for
experiments and personal use, it is way better than any other solutions.

Thanks,
Mohan R
