I had 150-300GB each on a few Irix 6.x boxes and ran into issues. I also tested xfs on 2.4.x linux kernels with ~1TB file systems and had the same problem -- I ran reiserfs in the end. This was circa 2000-2001 and I have not used xfs since. > The client premise experiences frequent power outages. I don't think the xfs situation has improved, and would not recommend using it with unreliable power or hardware. Unless you are exceeding the limits of a tuned ext3/4, it's best not to move away from ext3/4. Btw, are you having all 6TB on a single file system? Any file system corruption can hose the entire volume and take a lot of data with it. - Raja _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
