Hi ! I see that Maemo is a "platform" from the web site. http://maemo.org/intro/ http://maemo.org/intro/platform/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maemo "Maemo is a software platform that is mostly based on open source code and powers mobile devices such as the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. Maemo platform has been developed by Nokia in collaboration with many open source projects such as the Linux kernel , Debian , GNOME , and many more." "The Maemo platform is the core software stack that runs on mobile devices such as the Nokia N900. The Maemo platform is built in large parts of open source components. The Maemo SDK provides an open development environment for applications on top of the Maemo platform." So I guess it is more than OS. Nokia is a speacial hardware based on TI OMAP ARM SoCs and also many custom hardware features. So questions is ........ is it possible to make it run on other hardware also Meaning non-nokia Tablets pcs based on regular x86 cpus ? Are there any other platforms like this ?
