Mystic Lake Team Racing Invitational
Upper Mystic Lake, Medford, MA
April 2-3, 2011

Day One Report

A great day on the Mystic. A double round-robin of 56 races were completed in
solid WNW 8-18. A nearly dry squall increased the wind to about 20 briefly in
the afternoon. One protest was filed but dropped. A few minor breakdowns did
not delay any races. One major breakdown, a hole caused by a collision in a
BC-Roger Williams race caused a short delay to replace the boat. The top four
teams sent excellent "B" teams which will lead to tomorrows format. Those four
will sail a triple round-robin; the remaining four will sail a double
round-robin. Today's scores will carry forward. More great weather is
expected tomorrow with similar breeze and more sunshine.

Day Two Report

Another busy day at the Jumbodome. 30 races were scheduled but with strong
winds and some new inexperienced sailors, Bates opted out. The top four sailed
a triple round-robin while the remaining three sailed a double. Full sunshine,
cool temps (topping at 50F), and NW 10-20 g28 (shifty of course) challenged
all. No breakdowns and a few protests filed between BC & Tufts (all dropped).
One race abandoned shortly after start due to PRO screw-up calling over
earlies. In total 80 races completed by 1:45 Sunday.

BU sailed well in the consolation with an improved line-up but Vermont held on
for 5th. Tufts continued to dominate the gold fleet until Dartmouth broke
their string. Dartmouth then made it two in a row by besting Roger Williams.
BC beat Roger Williams 3-2 to break the tie for second. BC's protests with
Tufts might have made the overall win much closer but all protests were dropped.

Thanks to Jumbos Ben Weigel, Sarah Long and Marissa Gallerani for finish line
and scoring duty Sunday.

In all a really fun weekend of heavy wind, high performance team racing, with
up to 23 races per team.
