United States Coast Guard Academy Southern New England Team Race March 25-26, 2006
Saturday Highlights. The day started with an easterly fighting against a northerly at 5-15 knots. Once the breeze settled down from the North at 8-12 knots a single round robin of 12 teams was completed. Format for Sunday is to have a double gold and a double silver round for a combined total of 126 races. All courses sailed were on the college style "N" course. Six protests were heard after racing, thanks to our judging staff of Sue Rilley, George Crocker and Ted Ferrarone who did a great job both on and off the water. Thanks to Conn College's 6 420's we were able to have 24 420's on the water helping get teams ready for the National Championships in Charleston. Results after one round robin are as follows: Gold: Harvard 9-2 Yale 8-3 BC 8-3 Dartmouth 7-4 Brown 7-4 Tufts/USF 6-4 tie break to be sailed for final Gold spot first thing Sunday morning Silver: USC 4-7 RWU 4-7 Conn Coll 3-8 CGA 2-9 Navy 2-9 Mark Zagol Head Sailing Coach US Coast Guard Academy (860) 444-8507 office (860) 234-4593 cell ________________________________________________ icsa mailing list [email protected] http://www.collegesailing.org/mailman/?listname=icsa
