First, "Fifth" & "Third" are ordinal numbers in this context, not denominators. The slash in the logo is merely to distinguish it from "fifty-three". Second, since that looks like an (improper) fraction, some play on numbers came into use. And no one expected it to be subjected to meticulous scrutiny.
