ISPF Edit uses the CCSID of the attached terminal. I don't know that it yet specifies what's used in batch.
As a consequence of using the terminal's CCSID, macros are not portable among terminal types. Similar problems might arise with library DFSORT control files. I suppose if SYSIN is a UNIX file tagged with CCSID, DFSORT might respect the tagging. Does it do that?
