Thank You.

But the announcement letter doesn't state if these are BREs, EREs, or
PCREs,
although the likely change of it being PCRE is both FAT and SLIM at the
same time.

The Announce letter does not go into the details of the line item.   The
DFSORT Application Programming Guide has all the details that can answer
your questions. Either way two versions of regular expressions are
supported:

• Basic Regular expressions (BRE)
• Extended Regular expressions (ERE)
