To me, with plenty Linux on other platforms, the chief (practically only) benefit of OMVS has been its close coupling with Classic z/OS (address LINKMVS and address TSO) and accessibility of Classic data sets (//DSN). Some will say ISPF support of z/FS. Will containerized Linux have similar facilities? And access to z/FS? ASCII<->EBCDIC bridge? RACF<->LDAP bridge? Hmmm... Linux, of course, is free. Is the container separately priced? It would be useful if the "continuous delivery" links included summary titles in addition to announcement numbers. >I don't know what the NoSQL VSAMDB is, but that sounds interesting too. -- gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
