Thanks Tim,

We get a z13s in April so I might leave it. I'm guessing that some of the instructions generated by the JIT compiler in V8 might be zEC12 and later so re-compiling won't help.

A machine model upgrade would be excellent! However, if you have z/OS 2.2
with XL C/C++ then you can compile the source code for your particular
machine model, as long as your target machine can run what the z/OS 2.2 XL
C/C++ Compiler can produce. Build instructions are available in the
README.md file, included with the source code available from Github:

https://github.com/ibmruntimes/node/tree/v0.12-zos-ascii

That's the current source code link at this instant. That link is likely to
change as this subproject evolves.

You will also need Python if you don't have it already, available from
Rocket Software here:

The Node.js README refers to GNU Make 4.1 as a prerequisite, but I'm not
sure that's true since the build instructions use make (not gmake). So I'm
a bit confused there. If you could report back what you discover, that'd be
great.
