How do you communicate with the various SMS Service providers? SMPP or the various HTTP etc. schemes? Certainly none of them are rocket science, and the OP didn't suggest it is, but it would be nice to have a standard method/library dto do it. But as I said, the big IF is whether SMPP itself is really going anywhere, and its lack of security options.
