I'm baffled. I've never before detected a connection between TSOAUTH in
general, and TSOAUTH MOUNT especially and any z/OS UNIX authority.

Where is the relation between TSOAUTH MOUNT and z/OS UNIX file system mount
described?

TSOAUTH is described in "z/OS V2R1.0 TSO/E Customization - Chapter 18.
Protecting the resources TSO/E users can access". There I read at the end of
the chapter:

Summary of resources protected using RACF

TSOAUTH

MOUNT Allow this user to issue dynamic allocation requests that result in the
need for volume mounting.

No mention of UNIX mount.
