How different was the I/O configuration? Adding devices can reduce private. Different devices can take different storage amounts for UCB and drivers.
Different hardware can have different recovery modules loaded, changing private size. We recently dynamically added DASD. O problem, even over an IPL. Updated IOCP/IOCDS to make them permanent, power-on reset, and IPL. Lost 1 meg from private and had to adjust CSA/SQA.
