Spent time with a customer today on a RACF issue. Long story short: They had chosen an unused POSIT, only it turned out that it was secretly in use by CADB2 (whichever tool THAT is). Listing POSITs with Vanguard did NOT show it.
We only discovered this because, while Easter Egging, we changed the GENERIC setting and got an error saying that the POSIT was shared and that all users had to have the same GENERIC setting. (Yay Easter Egging, saved my **** so many times.!) I'm sending this in hopes that it might save someone else some time: this would appear to be a good way to verify uniqueness of POSIT use.
