I am running z/OS 2.1. I have had a couple of occurrences of an enqueue on SYSZEC16 PURGE. The enqueue is held and is waiting from the same batch job. I've tried googling and searching IBM. This is the only thing I found that might pertain to the problem. That's an old entry for OA34343. The only thing I know about the job that is running, is that it is a COBOL program which does some dynamic allocation and deallocation.
Any suggestions/insights? BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION: There is no easy fix but this recursive logic is usually driven by out of storage conditions in a given address space. Please address the problems which drive the out of private storage conditions to avoid this hang.
