I have a sense that UNIX and LINUX, perceived to be under attack, are now being defended implicitly here.
I, for one, was not attacking UNIX or any of its sequelæ. The notion that an operating system is defective if it exhibits a vulnerability is perhaps true in some generic sense, but it is without interest. All of them do.
