To Ed's point. If the STC is still running and you only purged a small subset and you DO NOT HAVE SPIN=CLOSE,FREE=UNALLOC
In SDSF issue the ST command. Then prefix the name of your STC. Issue a ? (question mark) next to the name. If there is any output available, you can see it there. Otherwise - purged is gone. In JES2 if there is any part of the job on SPOOL and it does not use SPIN=CLOSE,FREE=UNALLOC, then all of the job is still on the spool and visible from the ST function. JES2 will only purge when all parts are purged. That is why when a job has a step like IEBGENR and the only sysout you find in O function is the IEBGENER step, if you did an ST you may see the entire job still left on JES2.
