Some few prohibitions are of course necessary, but the best course in
most of these situations is to ask oneself the question, "Do I really
need to say no?", and the answer is usually no.

Still, the gratuitous prohibitions proliferate; and the
sysprog/admin---Dress'd in a little brief authority, Most ignorant of
what he's most assur'd---deciding what an 'ordinary programmer' needs
is one of the chief offenders here.
