Which one? Current one! You don't have to search for anything ancient or rare.
Doesn't Redhat zLinux download page have 2 ISO (one zLinux s390x and the other
zLinux)? I never said anything about ancient nor rare.

It is irrelevant. No one is going to write a code. It is about running software delivered as a part of Omegamon. In fact I don't care how IEBCOPY was written - I'm here to use it. Same about WUI.

I'm guessing the WUI is compiled using GCC and everything it calls must be
compiled with GCC.
Let me simplify that.
It is not about compiler. Neither C nor any other language.
Are you saying GCC & IBM XL C executables / libraries are binary compatible?
IBM does not make this guarantee. Does /usr/lib contain libraries supported by both
compilers?

See above. We are not WUI developers. We are users.

Which flavour? Well, there are three "main": RHEL, Suse and Ubuntu.
I believe RHEL has 2 distros which would make it four.

RHEL has more distros (other HW platforms), but it's irrelevant for the reasons described above. As well as other zLinux flavours.

Note: the goal is to answer the question, to help someone. Not to discuss about architecture. Of course such discussion is allowed as it is related to IBM-MAIN scope, but it is not an answer. Just different thread.
And my participation here was just to answer. To explain. To help.
