Hello, I'm in midst of building out new ZOS 2.5 system via ServerPac - migrating from ZOS 2.4. Built out new ServerPac with new master catalog and then tried to migrate over SMS (ACDS, SCDS, COMMDS) from old catalog to new and only method I could come up was to clone (used FDRDSF to copy two of them and then SMS to make copy of 3rd. (they are all SYS1 prefixed datasets) - so created new SMS datasets with different names from current ones and then copied existing contents to new datasets and then IPLed this morning.
Well quickly found out that internally SMS datasets have references to the original dataset names internally which led to SMS not being able to initialize. How do you ZOS / SMS experts handle such SMS dataset migrations between two master catalogs? Obviously I'm not going about this the right way. And yes, I do have an open ticket with IBM as well but wanted to throw this out to group??? Thanks - all answers / suggestions are welcome.
