Depends on the size of the shop. I've been the only sysprog at a shop
before, but it was a 4341 running MVS/SP at the end of the 80s.

My current employer has a small mainframe team, and I'm the lone z/OS
expert (or will be once the guy who's done it for years fully retires).
There are a few others, and one young guy that I'm doing my best to bring
up to speed.
