Hi Jake,

Looking into what you asked, and I had some questions, too.
Assuming you were using the same extract dataset, did you validate that the
sort criteria for each program was the same?

It would seem the report in question is custom, with the goal to find the
volumes eligible for scratch.
As there are many ways that volumes can be eligible for scratch, I would
recommend doing an EDGHSKP with VERIFY,EXPROC to see the list most accurate to
what RMM would process if it were not a verify run.

If my understanding isn’t quite right, let me know and we can go back to the
drawing board.

Cheers,
Parker Mathewson

Subject: [EXTERNAL] EDGRPTE or EDGRPTD for scratch
Hello

We are running EDGRPTD for getting tape list which are eligible for scratch.

I also run EDGRPTE but when I compare both the reports. Both outputs are
different, RPTE had more tape list for scratch whereas RPTD has lesser

Any difference between them ?

Which one is the recommended to run ?

Jake
