I hope (that some of) these programs will help you to maintain your
z/OS systems better than before.
Steve Myers is (was) an excellent and original Assembler
programmer. I have not seen anybody who programs like him. I lost
track of him after May or June 2022 and I am not sure if he is still
alive (or not). In any case, I want to write a tribute to him, and to
show everyone that his highly original programs will help them maintain
their z/OS systems.
Please look at www.cbttape.org, and especially at File 1016 on the
Updates page. There are 15 of his highly original programs there, which
I have reworked to make them easy to install and use. This file now has
a #HELP member in TSO XMIT format, and a #LOADLIB member in that format,
so that you don't have to assemble these programs yourself, and you can
use them right away.
Steve's other files on the CBT Tape are: Files 956, 966, 1017,
1019, 1020, 1021, and 1025. Please check if there are "Updates"
versions of these files, or if they are in the "CBT" section of the website.
It would be a pity not to use (at least some of) these clever and
cleverly-written programs, to help you in your work. (Please look at
ICOPY from CBT File 956 to copy pds'es and to include their deleted
members. ICOPY uses EXCP on disk, to copy all the directory and member
material to the new copy of the pds. WOW...!!!)
