And sometimes you can't teach a new dog old tricks. Way back in my innocent 
youth I discovered what I called "young fogies"; people in their teens or 20s 
who were already ossified. As someone who is attracted to the bleeding edge and 
settles for the leading edge, I found them frustrating.

So true.  It is a challenge I faced myself at times, but in my “old” age I find 
that learning “new” things is actually quite stimulating to the gray matter and 
tends to increase my enthusiasm for getting up for work every day.

To quote the old cereal commercial, “Try it!  You’ll like it!”.

Yeah, you're right. Change is good. I have had associates who used ssh 
exclusively or almost exclusively, and it seemed to work for them. (The problem 
of remote work -- didn't get to look over their shoulders.)



You can teach an old dog new tricks, but you have to overcome the dog's 
resistance to change.
