You will have to change your habits.
First, the HMC no longer has DVD drive.
Second, there is no more HMC as separate machine. There is a HMA - still the same Trenton Systems PC server working as both HMC and SE. And of course it is inside CPC rack, at the top (A42 and A41).
To complement, the ZZSA is IPLable, but it is not z/OS.
Depending on your setup I'd suggest some small tech LPAR. Much more convenient.

Yes - I used to keep a CD/DVD of the ZZSA standalone system on the top of all
my HMC's. Last ditch repair of something if needed when an IPL failed.

About a decade ago you could boot z/OS from the DVD drive in the
mainframe. z/VM had a trial version on DVD you could download.
It was never true.
You could IPL from a DVD inside HMC. HMC is not mainframe.
And you could IPL, but NOT z/OS. It could be standalone program like
ADRDSSU or ICKDSF.
Indeed, you could IPL from DVD which was a part of COD (Customized
Offering Driver) - but see above.
Contrary to z/VM the COD had (has?) to be inserted to HMC optical drive.
Although you could IPL from ftp, further steps required media in HMC.
